Q&A:
What made you start your baking career after so many years in the hospitality industry?
· Sweet Guilt was born out of my intense obsession with fashion, baking and healthy baking. My closest clients, friends and family have always seen how happy I have been making desserts and other sweet treats. They really encouraged me to pursue this passion of mine and one day I finally agreed. I have never looked back. It is so true what they say, ‘if you do something you love, you never have to work a day in your life.’
Did the hospitality industry have an influence on your entrepreneurial endeavor?
· Absolutely! Every event produced while I was working for different resorts, whether that be a wedding or special gathering, I would have a vision for their desserts—from the desserts themselves to the display of them! And now I am able to deliver it.
What are some future plans you have in mind for Sweet Guilt?
· I would love for Sweet Guilt by Angelica to become a staple here that locals will come to know not only for our beautiful, artistic and tasty desserts, but also as a healthy option that will cater to any
diet restriction. It would be wonderful to be served in our city’s elite favorite restaurants as well, a little Sweet Guilt after your favorite meal.
Where do you draw your inspiration from for all your creative dessert designs?
· I draw inspiration from fashion, art, nature and the personality of each client. Every dessert is unique and customized to their special day and occasion with a little piece of their story shining through.
What are your most popular items?
· My Guilty, liquor infused flavors, are always so fun. But the most beautiful and special that are completely unique to Sweet Guilt by Angelica are our Glam Cakes in a Jar and Signature Flower Cookies, a sweet statement piece.
Do you plan on expanding your product lines?
· Our lines are limitless, essentially. Whatever you want, whatever flavor or health restriction, we will work around it, make it and deliver a treat that is as delectable as it is beautiful. Our signature flavors are also available in Gluten Free, Vegan, Dairy Free and Sugar Free.
How do you stay ahead of your competitors in this niche market?
· I am involved in every consultation, order and in overseeing the entire creation process from conception to completion. I personally visit every client to assure 100% that we surpass expectations. I love weaving a special component of my customer’s story into their order. This personalization is what makes these desserts extra special for us as well as the client.
