Born and raised in New York City, Chef Anthony Vitolo began his culinary journey at a young age. While other kids were on the playground, he was in the kitchen of his family’s restaurant Emilio’s Ballato in Manhattan, relentlessly watching, helping, and learning alongside his father. He credits his humble beginnings of slicing lemons and shucking clams in the restaurant’s basement to his appreciation of a relentlessly hard-working “staff” whom he often refers to as family.
