GIUSEPPE ARESTA
Giuseppe Aresta, class of 1989, born in the province of Bari, has held the position of sous chef at the Il Sereno Al Lago restaurant (1 Michelin Star), within the 5*L Il Sereno in Torno (CO), since 2022. His duties mainly involve organizing the staff and timetables, order management and work planning.
“Almost all of my career has been spent in the service of luxury hotels, which has allowed me to specialize in this area. At Il Sereno al Lago, I deal with engaging and motivating the staff, working on operational dynamics, but also on psychological ones.”
Giuseppe Aresta’s culinary career began in 2008 in Saint Moritz, as commis de cuisine at the 5*L Hotel Badrutt’s Palace. After a series of stages between Italy and France, he arrived at the Bulgari Hotel and Resort 5*L in Milan, and then at the Armani Hotel and Resort 5*L where he met Raffaele Lenzi, with whom he immediately established a relationship destined to flourish. At the Park Hyatt Hotel 5*L he worked at Restaurant Vun – at the time 1 Michelin star – under the direction of Chef Andrea Aprea.
In 2016 he decided to move to Lake Como and took part in the new project at Hotel Il Sereno together with chef Raffaele Lenzi. On the strength of the experience gained, in 2019 he personally oversaw the opening of the Caribbean branch of Il Sereno in Saint Barthelemy, in the French Antilles. After a brief interlude during the Covid in his homeland at the restaurant Due Camini, 1 Michelin Star, inside Borgo Egnazia, he returned permanently to the shores of Lake Como to take on the role of sous chef at Il Sereno Al Lago and supervisor of the activities of Villa Pliniana, the other 16th-century jewel of the property overlooking the lake.
