Chef James Wright brings his culinary expertise to the kitchen at Klaw. Beginning his career in 2012, Wright has held several leading positions in some of the most reputable kitchens in London, including Beast, Goodman Steakhouse, Sumi, Humo and 20 Berkeley Street. His cooking technique has been influenced by his year-long culinary travels throughout Europe and North America where he was able to gain inspiration through experiencing different cultures and cuisines.
In 2023, Wright joined the opening team at Klaw in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood, where he now serves as Executive Chef of the restaurant. Located in the historic Woman’s Club building, Klaw introduced a new wave of luxe surf and turf dining to the city, featuring internationally-sourced Norwegian shellfish and superior cuts of meat originating from Nebraska ranchers, with seasonal dishes rounding out the menu. His responsibilities include maintaining the king crab and beef-aging programs onsite, stock management, culinary and menu development, and culinary team training.
Klaw was named one of World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants in the country.
Eater Miami also named Klaw as the “Restaurant of the Year” when it opened in 2022.
